A little room haul!

Hello beauties!

So in a little shopping trip i picked up some stuff for my room that i thought I'd share (separately to the February haul i have planned for later this month!) My room is a bit shabby chic inspired, as you may work out from my purchases!

The bird cage is the best thing ever, I've wanted one for ages! Never have i seen one for £7.99! (Home sense i love you!)

I'm going to get some flowers for the large jar, but for now these guys are great for lipsticks, pens and a few perfumes!

Pretty little cake stand? Don't mind if i do! I'm going to decorate it with bath bombs when i next stock up on them, but for now its a cute little jewellery stand! (I bought my mum a big one for mothers day too!)

Plant pots that are this pretty can only be used for one thing; nail varnish! And lots of it!

I love every one of these decorations, I think the vintage home look is really beautiful! So I wish you all  a great Sunday and I'm sorry if, like me, you're back from your half term break tomorrow! I hope you've enjoyed today's post too! (Also; I'm hoping to feature some more room related stuff in the future, so let me know if you want more!) I will see you all very soon!

Monki wish list!

Hi beauties,

So the fashion world is all set for a burst of bright colour for spring! The neon trend! I love it, so very much! So I've opted for a sort of neon inspired wish list! But I've also just discovered Monki, and of course I've fallen in love! Mostly with the shirts, (which are to die for!) so the outfits are based upon something from there too!

This first shirt is my favourite! The print is so cute, plus really random, which makes it so fun and unique! I love the look of a pinafore or dungaree over a shirt (I need a dungaree or pinafore) so I've chosen this dress that's cut out at the back Because it would look so beautiful with the really colourful print! The Chelsea boot is a favourite of mine, i really need a pair this year! The necklace sits over the dress to create a more vintage look. Last, but in no way least, we have this bag... Oh my god this bag! The contrast of black and orange is fantastic in this outfit, but the way it ties in with the shirt is beautiful! I am loving the neon trend! I say this a lot, but this is my favourite wish list, best I've ever done!

You can find these:
Blouse-here
Dress-here
Bag-here
Boots-here
Necklace-here

The second outfit is inspired by these jeans! (Black and white too is a massive element of clothing this season!) Again we have a really bold pattern that is so interesting and unique that to be honest i cant help but love them! Paired with a white crochet cut out shirt which is again a really pretty piece! The red bag is perfect to create a real bold edge to the entire outfit. And of course accessories being key for me so i went with this statement necklace and bold ring!

You can find these:
Jeans-here
Shirt-here
Bag-here
Necklace-here
Ring-here

Finally, the third outfit: a big favourite of mine! these trousers are very bold and so unique (Monki is all about unique!) I'd wear them with a white shirt which would act as a perfect contrast to soften the print. (this one being a fave as the cut out shoulder is so flattering and ready for warm weather) If i bought these, i would be straight in topshop buying this bag. As the bag ties in perfectly with the colours that run through the pattern to add a bright and colourful approach to the outfit! Finally the triangular necklace plays part in the cool and unique orientated outfit, triangle jewellery is a winner! The many elements of colour, in this really simple outfit, are what makes up a fashionable look that is raring for spring!

You can find these:
Bag-here
Shirt-here
Trousers-here
Necklace-here

Thanks for reading guys! This weeks wish list has been rather different to all the others, however i love every bit of each of these outfits and I've enjoyed creating every aspect of today's wish list for you so i look forward to similar ones in the upcoming year! Until we meet again, i hope you have a lovely weekend!

Let's bake...Rhubarb crumble muffins!

Hey beauties,

It's half term! Yay, a whole week of revision, art exam stuff and homework...yay, i think? So today I decided to bake, (one of my favourite activities) and top of my list to bake were some rhubarb crumble muffins! Yummy!

So I thought I'd share the recipe (from a good food magazine at some point!) with you lovely people:

                                                                  You will need:

For the muffin mix-
175g caster sugar
175g rhubarb , halved lengthways then diced
2 tbsp sunflower oil
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
125ml buttermilk
200g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
For the crumble topping-
50g light muscovado sugar
50g plain flour
25g porridge oats
1 tsp ground cinnamon
50g butter

                                                                  Lets get started!
  1. Turn your oven on at  220c/200c/gas mark 7. Then put 12 muffin cases into a muffin tray!
  2. Stir your rhubarb and sugar together, put this to one side for later.
  3. You can now make your crumble topping! Add the sugar, flour, oats and cinnamon, then mix them together!
  4. You can now add your butter, using your finger tips rub it with the dry ingredients until clumpy.
  5. Put this to one side, and grab your sugary rhubarb (which may be a bit juicy, but that's fine!)
  6. Add your oil, egg, buttermilk and vanilla to the rhubarb and mix it all together.
  7. Then add your baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and flour. then stir well!
  8.  Spoon your mixture into cases then scatter a thick layer of crumble mix (which you've put to one side) over the top and cook for 15-18 mins. (You'll know their cooked when they're golden brown and you can put a cocktail stick into them and it come out clean when removed.)
  9. EAT!

I was really impressed with them as they taste brill (especially when warm!) and look great, i love rhubarb! I hope you try and love this recipe, please let me know if you do!

January haul!

Hello beauties!

How are all of you guys? Well I did it! I managed to get a post in before our lovely Friday!I hope you're proud of me! So last month i managed to pick up a whole range of different bits and bobs, and my love for reading hauls pushed me to bring them together in a little post for you guys to enjoy! So here goes!

  • Topshop black skater skirt: I simply adore skater skirts, the fit and overall look of them makes for a beautiful outfit in summer or winter. I bought the black topshop skater skirt because of its flexibility (what I mean by that is A-it goes with everything and B-it fits really comfortably!)
  • H&M cross shirt: (i actually did a wish list about this shirt haha!) This shirt has very nearly killed me! I waited three weeks for it to come, (let's all just take a moment to furrow our brows and shake our heads at H&Ms delivery!) when it arrived I straight away shoved it on and wore it to town, when I got back from town I noticed loads of water marks on it, after re-tracing my exact actions for about half an hour I realised i'd sprayed it with perfume before I left the house... Turns out perfume can stain some shirts!  Thankfully the stains came out in the wash! But the moral of the story is: don't spray perfume directly onto your shirt! Any who! I love the pattern of this shirt, and the fact it's longer at the back!

  • Topshop tartan skinny jeans: I don't think I've ever purchased any form of clothing in topshop for a tenner, I'd given up on the topshop sale after finding numerous bits of beautiful clothing with no sale price on, asking the assistant it's price and finding its not in the sale, it just somehow ended up on the sale rack. Which the first time was fine... After seven times however... Different story! (Didn't help that on most occasions they put the clothing back on the sale rack!) however I did have a little skim through a rack of jeans and found these tartan skinnies for just a tenner! They fit perfect and the role up a the ankle is my fave!

  • River island duck skirt: My eyes had been set on this skirt for a while and after discovering I had twenty pounds worth of vouchers for river island I went straight ahead and bought it! Although I've got no clue on what I could wear it with... Still it's so beautiful and really cute with its little gold buttons and belt!

  • Cath Kidston purse: I got this for whenever I go somewhere just to keep my bus pass, any make up, money and anything else the usually ends up somewhere in the bottom of my bag when I need it! So I bought this for convenience and because those little soldiers are so adorable!

Nice mini collective haul there! I'm hoping to do a post of purchases bought throughout the month more often, it does make me feel a bit guilty about my 'save up' new years resolution though! I hope you enjoyed, and if you have any idea of what to wear with the duck skirt feel free to tell me, i have no clue!

Sing and style wish list!

Hello beauties,

As you may have guessed this is a song inspired outfit wish list post! Based upon just two of my favourite bands!

The first outfit is all raring for summer, the dungarees and vans screaming for a summer gig or music festival, and of course the beauty that is a river island crochet top just begs for summer time! It's so delicate and pretty, but also would look great with a nice pair of dungarees. The anklet sitting just above the vans would create the cutest of summer looks, and finally the trusty leather backpack creating a casual summer feel! This outfit is based on the Foster The People album 'torches'. Because, just as the outfit does, the album screams summer fun and upbeat happiness!
You can find these-
Shoes-here
Anklet-here
Blouse-here
Dungarees-here
Backpack-here

The second outfit is based on a lyric from an Arctic Monkeys song called 'R U Mine' the velvet dress automatically made me think of the lyric 'some velvet morning'! It's such a beautiful dress, with such a beautiful look to it! (does it not scream Alexa Chung?) A pair of docs were the only suitable shoes for this kind of thing, of course! Statement jewellery is perfect, so i instantly fell for this spike necklace. And finally i added a denim jacket (Matt Helders inspired!)

You can find these-
Dress-here
Boots-here
Jacket-here
Necklace-here

So guys! Did you enjoy my little musically inspired wish list? I hope so because i quite like the idea! I'm hoping to post again very soon, if not i cant apologise enough, but you must forgive me because I've got revision on every corner at the moment!

January Glossy Box 2013

Hello beauties,

Last month i ordered my first ever glossy box, which was surprisingly exciting to receive! So this review is for the January box, (I meant to do it last month but bloggers photo upload button thingy wasn't working for me! so Ive done it this month! Sorry) which was the detox box and so contained products that give you a fresh start for the new year! Brilliant idea on glossy boxes part! (For anyone who hasn't heard of them: Glossy box is a company who create boxes made up of surprise product samples, which cannot be found in boots or on the high street and therefore are often expensive. They sell the box for £10.00 however, which explains the attraction to them!)

As you can see from the above two images you can see from the two images of the box, its so beautifully packed! This box came with a little eye mask for extra pampering too! This is the usual box, sometimes they do special themed boxes with even more beautiful packaging! i love how special the packaging makes you feel!

The first product was my favourite, it was the Monu aromatic face mask, i was very excited to use a face mask as i wouldn't normally. What stands out about this product for me is the warming effect, it's really comfortable to leave on the skin for ten minutes, because an irritating face mask is what puts me off using them! finally it has a non setting property which means it doesn't tighten, you don't have to peel it off and it therefore makes your skin feel really soft and smooth. The warming feel is excellent for the winter weather and I'm really impressed with this product, too bad its only a sample because a full bottle costs £24.00, rather expensive but worth it!

The next was the Elemis skin glow facial exfoliator! This is an excellent little exfoliator that's great to freshen up your skin and it does make your face feel really clean which is brilliant in a skin care product! over all i was quite impressed, face feels soft and its not harsh plus doesn't react with my sensitive skin! But fantastically its too expensive £12.00 for a full bottle!
I also received a bottle of premae balance rescue face tonique, if you read my lush review post you'll know I'm really impressed with my current toner so yeah i was pretty excited to try this one out. I do prefer the smell of my lush toner, however this one has a great smell all the same and has a great effect: clean, fresh and soft skin! However it is £17.50 for a full bottle (the boxes are great value for money!) so i cant see myself buying it over my lush toner. great toner though!
The fourth product was a duck island body lotion, I wasn't really wowed by this. there Ive said it! This is where the issue with glossy boxes comes in, you cant choose the products so you literally could get anything, some get better than others! I was a bit gutted with this when i compared it to some of the other products people got. But yeah, still loved the smell and its effect so I'll just get over it!
Finally i received the Jason lip balm, loved this, the mint flavour was a bit much at first however its grown on me and so no longer bothers me! i use it constantly because it gives such a soft and smooth texture to your lips! plus its great for just £1.99!
So! What do you think? Does anyone subscribe to glossy box? what did you receive, were you impressed? Feel free to comment! I was pretty impressed with my box however i may wait a while until i get another, i suppose they re not very good for someone who doesn't like surprises! I shall see you all very soon with any luck, so look out for my next post, have a great week guys!

It's the jeans that count.

Hey beauties,

First, apologies for my absence, *slaps own hands* my art exam has come first this week and so i haven't managed to squeeze in a cheeky mid week post as planned, and sadly may not be able to again until march! I am really sorry and I'm trying my best to get some posts ready for you guys so you don't miss out and i don't feel guilty! However Friday is always wish list day so now we've got that out of the way, let us continue!

BACK TO THE WISH LIST!

The first of this weeks two outfits is nice and spring themed! The straight denim jeans being one of my favourite pairs out there; I think light denim jeans with rips are always a winner really! In keeping with the spring feel I chose this beautiful tshirt, the print is so pretty and the cut out crochet section looks amazing and creates a beautifully spring feel (Love this tshirt!) Over the top of the tee i have the little key pendant necklace, lovely and sweet to match the vintage style. This blazer also is on my list of wants, I've seen all kinds of denim jeans paired with blazers a lot recently and personally I thinks its the nicest way to wear them! finally: the bag, I've wanted this bag for what seems like ages, the scallop edges making it such a beautiful bag!

You can buy this outfit:

The second outfit is a bit of a favourite of mine, i do wear a little bit too much black (he he) so i adore it. The jeans are the only splash of colour in this outfit, but i do like that and the all together colour of them! The shirt is my fave! I think I've already talked about this shirt... I wouldn't be surprised if i have! The Miles Kane shirt, as i like to call it, is one i really love! The sunglasses add a really nice rock and roll air to the outfit in my opinion, round glasses will forever be a really cool accessory! The real leather jacket (every teenager dreams of a real leather jacket, do they not?) and completely awesome shoes finish this outfit in an obvious air of coolness. (Seriously though how gorgeous are those shoes?!) I'm actually in love with this outfit!

You can buy this outfit:
Jacket-here
Shoes-here
Jeans-here
Shirt-here
sunglasses-here
I honestly can't choose a favourite between these outfits! So, rather sadly, this post comes to a close! I'm going to attempt to get a post in before next Friday, but again if i don't, you'll know I'm surrounded by my art book and millions of bits of paper! Wish me luch!
As always its been a pleasure and i hope to see you soon (fingers crossed!)

It's been a long winter!

Hello beauties,
With the weather finally picking up I thought there no better time for a little springish wish list. I went a little summery, but in honesty I couldn't help it! I miss summer (there i said it) but my guess is, it won't be a good summer this year; my exams are approaching! Oh yes my friends! They're all in summer of course! So I guess I'm going to have to cheer myself up with some summer outfits!

Both are based around a pair of hexagon sunglasses I spotted in topshop, I instantly fell in love with their vintage style and unique shape! Bravo Topshop, bravo! I'd love a pair for summer and holidays! buy a pair here. (everything but the lazy oaf tote is from Topshop, sorry but i do wish i could afford everything in Topshop)

The first outfit is keeping it slightly warmer (I said slightly) with the use of a parka (really need a parka this year!) I find it a great mix with the denim skater skirt creating an excellent summer/spring out about town look. A key piece of this outfit is the lace crop top, it does show a hint of belly yet I'm still quite attracted to the style of it in honesty! Of course accessories are important so I chose a detachable ring necklace to compliment the vintage feel, a leather tote that would just go with EVERYTHING, a pair of floral slippers for a summer feel and of course those all important glasses are the cherry on the top of this beautiful cake/outfit

attachment.jpg

you can buy everything;
parka
crop top
skater skirt
bag
shoes
necklace

The second is just classic summer casual, perfect for spring weather. A bright white t-shirt with a pretty spring print compliments the light rolled up skinnies, topped off with a leather jacket to keep you nice and warm in delightful April breezes! Of course I chose a lazy oaf tote (someone get me one? they're fantastic.) all finished with those glasses that I adore. I'll be straight in Topshop on my next shop as to be honest I've  become very fond of them!

Well then lovelies another wish list draws to a close! I could babble on about all my loves for ages! Maybe next week we'll do a longer one? I love doing them! So Ill be back very soon for a few things I'm working on, however I have a few exam/assessment things going on next week so if you don't hear from me until this time next week, I'm so sorry!

Bye guys! Loads of love from arctic girl!xxx
